Revamp of famous Glasgow Hotel

Clyde in GlasgowA new events and conference hall are to be created in an upgrade of one of Glasgow’s most iconic hotels of the past. Principle Hayley have purchased the once glamorous Central Glasgow Hotel which was formerly owned by (RHC) the Real Hotel Company who have previously gone into administration.

Its £20 million Principle Hayley are planning to spend and they are very excited about the project that will hopefully be finished by February next year (2010). The chief executive of Principle Hayley, Tony Troy has said that it the ideal kind of project that suits their ambitions to renovate unloved hotels and turn them back around to their former glory.

In the next few years Glasgow will see a large boom in conference centers throughout the city to compliment the top- quality ones already in existence. Another top venue to open its doors in 2011 is the Bothwell.

Visit the Edinburgh Dungeons

Edinburgh Dungeons

Travel back to one of scariest times in Scottish history and visit Edinburgh Dungeons and experience some dark what it could have been like for some back in the 16th century.

What happens in the dungeons stays in the dungeons, all the gory things you will see in the Edinburgh Dungeons are based on real events from the past, from Anatomy Theatre to Edinburgh’s great fire – Take a chilling boat trip to cannibal Sawney Beans lair. Are you scared? You’d better be as this fun day out is based on death, fear, torture and pain – plenty of it to.

Dungeon 1

Back in the years of the plaque “1646” you find yourself in an Edinburgh close that reeks of death, the poor people who caught the plaque where abandoned here and left to die a horrible nasty death, then all of a sudden a you feel a presence, a scary one at that, feeling scared and paralyzed by fear you try to run, ho ho ho but will you escape the wrath of the vengeful plague ridden ghost…

Dungeon2

Edinburgh Dungeons new attraction for 2009 the Extremis Drop Ride to Doom. The Grassmarket of the past was where all the criminals, murderers, cannibals and smugglers had their last breath of air as they where slung to their death and hanged, our new attraction is based on the scary thought of plunging to the darkness below with attached to a noose, smell the fear and try and control your adrenalin as you fall to the darkness below, can you handle it?

Dungeon3

If you are looking for accommodation in the area you will not be short. There is an abundance of hotels in Edinburgh with styles and budgets to suit all needs.

Heathrow Airport - 360 Degree Panoramas

Somehow we managed to miss this at the time of publication, but its worth posting now. The BBC has an excellent set of panoramic images of Terminal 5 at Heathrow Airport. There are panoramic pictures of different aspects of the terminal as well as 360 degree panoramic pictures that you can zoom in and out of - very cool!. It would be great if other facilities (such as heathrow airport hotels) could offer this feature as it gives an excellent feel for the surrounding environment.

Hemel Hempstead Visit

It seems unlikely to think that Hemel Hempstead would be an excellent place to visit, but that indeed seems to be the case. Im going to be visiting soon and i have been having a look around the web see what there is to do in the area. The Wiki entry has been very helpful as has the Hemelweb guide, and apparently there is a nice Hemel Hempstead Hotel just ouside the town itself-seems like it’ll be well worth a visit.
